LUNCH REGULATIONS

 
1.  Children will act appropriately while eating lunch in their classroom and remain seated while doing so.  They will be quiet if they must use the lavatory and when going out to the school yard in line for games and activities.
  • A towel, napkin or whatever the individual teacher suggests is to be spread on the child’s desk while eating lunch.
  • Trash will be collected before leaving the classroom.  Each child will personally clean his/her desk area. No brooms for cleaning the classrooms will be used at lunchtime.
  • Lunch containers will be returned to the closet.
  • Upon the instruction of the moderator, students will get coats, if needed.  No coat may be taken off and thrown in piles in the schoolyard.
2.  No one may remain in the classroom at recreation time.  Food may not be taken out to the school yard.  IT IS IMPORTANT THAT THE CHILDREN RESPECT AND OBEY THE LUNCH MODERATOR, who has been informed of his/her responsibility in carrying out the lunch program regulations.
 
3.  To safeguard other children, running in the yard is not permitted.  Keep your hands to yourself.  We do not hit, push or trip others.  Stay in the area of the yard designated and do not go near the parked cars or run on the lawns.
 
4.  Leaving the school yard is subject to suspension.
 
5.  Once the children are in the lunch program, THEY MAY NOT GO HOME OR TO A FRIEND’S HOUSE FOR LUNCH UNLESS A NOTE FROM THE PARENT IS BROUGHT TO THE OFFICE IN THE MORNING.
 
6.  Those going home for lunch should return to school only five (5) minutes before the bell rings and not before that time.
 
7.  No student may go to McDonald’s or any other food store during lunchtime.
 
8.  When the weather is inclement, we do the work assigned.
 
PARENTS, PLEASE REVIEW THE FOLLOWING REASONS FOR LUNCH DETENTION WITH YOUR CHILDREN TO BE CERTAIN THAT HE/SHE FULLY UNDERSTANDS THAT APPROPRIATE BEHAVIOR IS EXPECTED AT ALL TIMES, IN ALL PLACES: CLASSROOM, HALL, LAVATORY, AND SCHOOL YARD.
 
Fighting/screaming, leaving desk/classroom without permission, writing on the board, throwing food/spilling liquids
because of misconduct, use of bad language/answering back in word or look, shooting rubber bands/other objects, not
playing ball in the yard according to the rules.
 

ANY CHILD WHO DOES NOT CONFORM TO THESE REGULATIONS WILL BE GIVEN A LUNCH DETENTION.  IF A SECOND OFFENSE OCCURS, THE CHILD WILL BE SUSPENDED FROM THE PROGRAM FOR ONE MONTH.  A THIRD OFFENSE WILL BE AUTOMATIC DISMISSAL FROM THE LUNCH PROGRAM.

  • No lunch fee (partial or full) will be returned if a child is suspended or asked to leave the program.
