Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember.
Involve me and I learn.
— Benjamin Franklin
Hi! I’m Mrs. Linda Salwach. I am beginning my second year of teaching at St. Matthew School.
I began my teaching career as a 3rd/4th grade teacher at Our Lady Of Pompeii. The following ten years I taught 5th grade for the first five years and third grade the next five years at Saint Adalbert School. During my time as a third grade teacher I prepared my students for their First Penance and First Holy Eucharist.
I became a stay at home mom when my older daughter, Jennifer, was born and I continued to stay home to raise my daughters when my younger daughter, Jillian, was born. I stayed involved in teaching by being a substitute teacher at St. Matthew.
I thoroughly enjoyed my time as a substitute and was very excited with the opportunity to be a permanent teacher here at St. Matthew. My teaching philosophy is best described by Benjamin Franklin’s quote, above. In order for our youth to become responsible citizens, some day, we must teach them the way and show them how to be truly involved in their daily lives.
