About The Teacher
I began my teaching profession at Saint Anne’s School. I came to Saint Matthew School after eight fabulous years at St. Anne’s. St. Matt’s is now and has been for many years my second home. I have taught every subject over these years, but math is definitely my favorite. I attended Holy Family University many moons ago to become a teacher and have never regretted this decision. Every day is a new and exciting adventure.
Mission For The Class
My goal is to help each student become an independent thinker. A great deal of learning in my class takes place by trial and error. The students will learn through asking questions, starting down false paths, and trying varied methods of approach. Clearly, success in any math class calls for much practice and patience on the part of the students and myself. We will work together to achieve this goal. I would like to bring all the students to a point where they can use the language of pre- algebra and algebra as a natural way of expressing mathematical ideas, not as a foreign language. I know math will be a positive learning experience for all of us this year.
