Hi! I’m Mrs. Linda Salwach.
I began my teaching career as a 3rd/4th Grade teacher at Our Lady Of Pompeii Catholic School. My career continued at Saint Adalbert Catholic School where I taught 5th Grade for five years and 3rd Grade the following five years. As a 3rd Grade teacher, I prepared my students for their First Penance and First Holy Eucharist.
I became a stay at home mom when my older daughter, Jennifer, was born and continued to stay home to raise my daughters when my younger daughter, Jillian, was born. To stay involved in teaching I was a substitute teacher at St. Matthew for 16 years.
I thoroughly enjoyed my time as a substitute and was very excited with the opportunity to be a permanent teacher here at St. Matthew.
My teaching philosophy is best described by the quote by Benjamin Franklin, found below. In order for our youth to become responsible citizens, some day, we must teach them the way and show them how to be truly involved in their daily lives.
Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.
— Benjamin Franklin
